What causes hair loss or in thier words why am I loosing my hair?!

After so many years of hair loss research this question is still widely debated. There is no straight forward answer, and no real cure. There are many factors that go into an individual if its a man or a woman to loses hair. While it is more common for men to lose hair many women also experience hair loss especially as they age. Many experts found a link between the immune-system and  balding, linking to this is also a male hormone DHT. This hormone is believed to attack the hair follicle causing male-pattern baldness resulting in destructive inflammation that slowly destroys the follicle's ability to produce terminal hair.

Another factor possibly related to hair loss is elevated androgens. This triggers an increase in the production of sebum (oil) , this also leads to inflammation. The hair begins to progressively miniaturizes under the fading autoimmune attack, so that with each following growth cycle the hair gets shorter and thinner until it finally turns into peach fuzz.

Male pattern baldness  has multiple contributing factors once the process has began. Some of the things to take in account is damage to blood vessel linings which prevent a growth factor they normally produce. Similarly it has been observed that severe baldness is strongly connected with heart disease and even diabetes. There are likely other factors as well.

Men's hair replacement tips for spring

Men's hair replacement tips for spring:
*Having 2 hair pieces at the same time enables you to switch off your hair pieces. This allows you to have a special occasions piece as well as an everyday knock-around hair system.
*Overexposure to the sun can cause dryness and unwanted lightening in your hair as well as the hair on your hair replacement: to prevent this from happening on your hair use a UV protecting shampoo and conditioner as to your hair replacement try to avoid extended sun exposure to your hairpiece.
*Chlorine can cause build up on your hair making it appear dull and feel unpleasant: make sure you wash your hair immediately after getting out of the pool to prevent damage. You should not wear your hair replacement while swimming.
*April Showers bring constant moisture changes to the atmosphere which can create frizziness: to prevent frizziness do not blow dry your hair simply blot it dry with a towel, dry the balding area, apply the hair replacement and simply mist it with water and blend in your hair with the hair replacement.

Your insurance company may pick up your bill for your hairpiece purchase!

Did you know if you are someone who is dealing with alopecia, medical related balding or cancer related chemotherapy and/or radiation and need to wear a hair system, toupee, wig, or hairpiece, that your health insurance plan may cover the full cost.  You’ll be surprised to know that most insurance companies will cover between 80 - 100% of a “cranial prosthesis.”  Insurance companies are starting to realize the important role that cranial hair prosthesis plays in the life of someone suffering with the side effects of these medical conditions.

Here are a few tips that may help you figure out if you can go through your insurance and be reimbursed for your new purchase.
- When filing your claim, be sure to refer to your hair system as a cranial hair prosthesis
- Read over your policy and double check your coverage portion.
(Make sure your policy covers expenses for prosthesis or prosthetics)
- Request a prescription from your physician for your full or partial cranial prosthesis
- Check with your physician for details and referrals for proper specialists and procedures in the field
-Write a letter to your insurance company to clarify the necessity of your prosthesis
- Make sure you, your physician and your specialist fill out and sign all proper documents
- Be sure to keep personal copies of all your paperwork and invoices

Good Luck & Good Looking!

Partial Hair Replacement Systems

Partial hair replacement systems are designed specifically to cover a small balding area. This would commonly be used by someone who started to notice balding in either the temples or the crown of the head. The partial hair replacement can be designed using both fine welded mono as well as injected skin base. This hair system may be bonded as well as taped on depending on preference. As your balding area gets larger your partial is going to bet bigger as well, until you no longer need it and can switch over to a full front lace or injected skin system. Partial hair replacement systems can be created in any shape any size to fit your specific needs, this also makes it a great option for individuals looking to cover a specific area due to an accident or an illness such as Alopecia Areata.
